we do it, do you expect any sympathy here?  its got nothign to do with us, its part of c development on linux and the stupid way packages work (particularly debians, they have 10x more packages for the same thing as everyone else does).

More often than that.  If upstream (you all, in this case) or
the Debian developer finds a minor bug, a new subversion gets pushed
down.

For example, libc6-dev is at version 2.3.2.ds1-18
