[Evolution] calendar weird

I changed from RedHat 7.3 to SUSE 9.0 recently.  I kept my same homedir.  Along with some other weird 
behaviors,
when I go into calendar, all I see is monthly calendars and a task list.  I have no way of seeing a weekly or 
daily
view, nor can I find any way of setting/reviewing appointments.  Any suggestions?  Could this be because 
evolution
is starting up using config files for another version of evolution?  I think my prior version 1.3.something 
and
this new one is 1.4.something.

Would I be recommended to export my contact information, save the mail archive under another name, blow away 
the
evolution directory (and any other related) and start again from scratch and then re-import my mail and 
contacts?

Or is there a way to be more surgical about this reinvention process?
