Re: [Evolution] Re: Accessing other users Exchange calendars

We are looking at removing the exchange button, as
it is not very intuitive.
With that I guess things should become more clear.

Thanks,
Sushma.

Exchange connector supports viewing other user's folders, of all types.

You need to go to Exchange view and subscribe to other user's folder
(Actions -> subscribe to other user's folder), then go to the particular
view
to access the folder you have subscribed to.

Ha! This works great! Thanks for that info. Easy when you know how.

I do think that the "magic morphing Actions menu" is a human-interface
design faux-pas. Menu's that contain different things under different
circumstances are unintuitive and confusing (popup windows avoid this as
the context is given by the selected item). The "Subscribe
to others folder" feature was not intuitive for me to find at all (maybe
I'm just dumb...). It would have been better (IHMO) if the Actions menu
was re-named "Mail Actions"/"Calendar Actions"/"Exchange Actions" etc. as
appropriate, to indicate that it's content may change depending on what
application one is using. This is all very subjective though ...

Otherwise, Evolution is *very* impressive. Thanks to the developers for
sparing me the pain of using win32/Outlook at my workplace.
