Re: [Evolution] Red Carpet snapshot channels (Was:Has the Evolution 2.0.2 2004-11-30 version been recalled?)

I activated the Evo Snapshot channel and tried to run the update, which
failed with a whole bunch of dependencies, not least of which was that
it was trying to update 1.4 (still on my box), rather than the October
2.0.2 snapshot I'm running. It would appear that the only way to get the
updated snapshot is to have Red Carpet uninstall all existing Evo RPMs
and start again. Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Last time I dealt with RC and Ximian snapshots is more than a year ago.
I'm building Evo myself these days. :)

Anyway: Having Evo 1.4 and 2.0 installed in parallel can be hard. I
remember some issues and using a large "hammer" to have early 1.5
snapshots installed and still using 1.4 for daily work. And it doesn't
make sense for the average user at all.

Why do you want to have 1.4 around?

btw: What do you mean by "start again"? 1.4 can be uninstalled, and the
currently installed 2.0 snapshot sure needs to be uninstalled to install
the latest one (aka upgrade).
