Searching the archives is not a pretty affair, and perhaps more/better
documentation is in order. Could anyone help out?
Run gnome-control-center (install Gnome if you don't have it), select
Advanced, select Preferred Applications, set a preferred browser. Look
at the docs for gnome-control-center for further info.
Gnome is not necessary to run evo, is it? My goal is to configure this
without installing it.
Good luck. I don't use Gnome, but I did a minimal install of it
because a lot of things just didn't work correctly. There proably is
some way to get everything right, get gnome-control-center installed
without the rest of Gnome, etc., but for the price a little disk space I
didn't waste the time figuring it out. Just do a minimal install of
Gnome, and don't use it for your desktop.
I use KDE on Mandrake, and taking the above approach is working very
well.
Maybe one of the Gnome gurus on the list could explain how to get
gnome-control-center running without the rest of Gnome, but that was
just a waste of time for me to bother with.
