thanks for all hints, I installed spamassassin from the redhat 9.0 CD
installed it, it seems to work...BUT evolution got that slow, just
inacceptable, I had to delete the filter
What makes you believe, it's Evolution being slow??
Depending on your machine, enabled network-tests and whether you are
using spamc/spamd or spamassassin, SA can take seconds for every single
mail -- up to more than 30 seconds with network timeouts...
As the speed is back to normal when disabling the filter to SA, I bet on
SA to be lagging...
Using spamc/spamd can speed up things. And if you can use fetchmail,
procmail and local delivery, everything will just work in the
background.
