[Evolution] Memo Conduit Duplicates

I am a very satisfied user of Evolution (1.2.4) .  I have one question
regarding the memo file conduits.  When I hotsync with my Treo, I get a
whole bunch of duplicate files in the ~/evolution/memo/<category>/
directory.  They all show up as 'memo', 'memo.1', 'memo.2',...'memo.n'.

Anyone know why this happens and/or how to prevent it?
