[Evolution] Evolution and time handling.

Hi all:
New to the listserve here. I just skimmed through the FAQs and couldn't
find anything that would help me, so I'm hoping you all could shed some
light here.

I'm running Evolution 1.2.2 on KDE 3.0.3-8 on Linux 2.4.18-26.8.0 on a
Dell Latitude C800 Laptop.

Here's the crux of the problem: Inbox timestamped mail is indicating 8
hours ahead of the actual local time.

My system TZ is set to GMT because for some reason, I can't convince KDE
to set the time correctly. So KDE is pulling the BIOS clock,
subtracting 8 hours and then displaying the time correctly.

(I'm in Los Angeles, California, USA, btw)

Now, evolution comes along and appears to be getting the KDE clock and
advancing it 8 hours and using that as the time stamp. I've changed the
local time zone under Tools->Settings->Calendar and Tasks to
"Europe/Moscow" (that apparantly is GMT) and when I go to reboot, it
promptly ignores everything and still stamps it 8 hours ahead.

I can't find anything on the net that would help me.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks
