Jeff - it's actually not a patience issue.  I've let Evolution sit
and wait for over an hour before killing the process.  You're not
really going to tell me that I'm SUPPOSED to have to wait that
long, are you?

No, but this is a completely separate issue from what the other guy was
talking about. And yes, this would be a bug. It is already known,
however, so don't bother submitting a new report to bugzilla.

And I think there are even earlier reports of it (in fact, I'd be
surprised if there weren't). I know people complain to me about it all
the time at Ximian, I just can't seem to make it work.

I've been telling people with this problem to press the Stop button in
the toolbar (don't use the Cancel buttons in the Send&Receive dialog,
they don't work as well), it should force the operation to cancel. Just
make sure you don't hit the Send&Receive cancel(-all) buttons first, or
the Stop button won't work either.
