Guys:
I've been using Evo a long time without issues, until I wanted to mess with my signature setup! I tried to
change the default signature in the default mail account from "auto" to ".signature". This crashed Evo, and
it complained about corrupt data when it reloaded.
I found half the mail accounts corrupted, so deleted or recreated accounts as needed. Evo collects mail fine
from my default mail account, but it refuses to open up a mail creation editor.
I've got error msgs when loading Evo from a terminal and recreating the problem, but cannot trace the problem
successfully from there.
However, since I'm using Evo 1.2.4, and I gather from this list, that Evo is now in version 1.4.3, is it
worth my upgrading rather than troubleshooting?
Terminal error msgs:
evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error in userCreateNewItem -- IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0
[raheesom Rupert-Mandrake raheesom]$
evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error changing interactive status of component
OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent to FALSE -- IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0
------------------------------------------------
I tried tracing the problem to either user accounts, or Evo settings files.
I tried loading Evo under root, it worked fine.
I tried getting Evo to re-create my settings files by moving the ~/evolution directory. That didn't help.
Although Evo created a directory for itself again, problem was still there!
