Note the bizarre fonts.

No idea. But notice how cool SuSE looks in that font.

Note also that the new messages in the folder index are no longer
noticeably more bold than the read messages -- Evolution 1.2 looked a
_lot_ better than this.

This is based completely on GTK2/GNOME2 font theme settings. Since I
use KDE, and it's not nearly as easy to set GNOME2 theme stuff as GNOME1
was (could just edit a rc file), I just deal with it.

Also, the composer seems to have taken to displaying a proportionally
spaced font, and word wrapping lines very early -- although I think they
get fixed before they're sent.

Is this likely to be a problem with my font setup, or is everyone seeing
it?

This appeared right along with Jeff's fix for bug 37961. That dealt
with the fact that changing the format of the message currently being
composed, also changed the defaults. It seems that the fix made so the
following occurs:
- Composing a message in plain text, with the default being plain text:
the message wraps really early, and the window still shows the variable
width font instead of the fixed width font. But the sent message is
correct.
- Replying to a message when the default setting is HTML, then switching
to plain text: each block of the quote gets one '> ' at the beginning
and end
(see http://www.borntreger.com/font.jpg), but once again the sent
message is correct.

So the composer isn't properly changing its view of what it is doing
anymore.
