Is there a way to have evolution bounce mail back to the source and make
it appear that it was never received?
However and in whatever manner you you would wish to distort this, the
receiving mail server has already given a "receipt" at the moment it
either accepts (250) or discards (550) the sender or the data.
That depends on the mail server. Some are more inclined to accept a
piece of mail and bounce it later; some reject it immediately.
So the original poster could certainly forge a plausible bounce message.
If the goal is to fool a human correspondent, that might work. But if
the goal is to reduce spam, then forged bounces are unlikely to help, as
most spammers don't use real return addresses.
