Re: [Evolution] newbe quesiton

Found what I was doing wrong. I have now been able to create my shortcuts to for MailNext
and MailPrevious.
One thing I don't understand is why the menu section of the evolution-mail-message.xml
file has entries under the submenu "Actions" for "GoTo", but they do not show on the
actual "Actions" menu. I finally tried changing the name of the menu and it started
showing up. So, somebody hard-coded a "dont display the GoTo menu" somewhere. Not a good
programming practice.
I also added (or tried to add) the icons to the "Toolbar". What I found was that the click
on spots are available, but they don't have any picture/icon on the spot. I can sellect
and click on them, but you can't see them. Is this also hardcoded? Any way to get around it?

About original second question. When I am viewing an email in a seperate window, I would
like to modify the actions when I put it in the trash. I want to leave the window open and
go to the next message. Is this controlled somehow by a configuration file that I can change?

I much rather not have a preview plane so I turned it off and open all mail into a separate window. Under my older email programs, while looking at the open email, there were either icons or shortcut keys that would let me move up or down the emails in the folder. I can not find any similar in evolution. Also, when an email is deleted while looking at it in it's own window, those other products move to the next email in the folder. In evolution, it just closes the window.
Am I missing something? Evolution looks good, but both of these items will be show-stoppers.

This mail navigation actions have been removed, due to issues with
threading and stuff.

Actually, you still can use the shortcuts in Actions / Got To. To
navigate to the next/previous message you even can use adfditional
shortcuts not mentioned in that menu: "." and "," for example.

Unfortunately, this does not work with threaded mail list view when
using this on a dedicated mail window... :-/

Regarding the shortcuts: If this is useful even with the thread
shortcoming, have a look at
 /usr/share/evolution/1.4/ui/evolution-mail-message.xml

for more shortcut keys for this. I think, you even can assign your own
ones for other actions mentioned in the Actions / Go To menu.
