Re: [Evolution] Palm Sync

Having a problem with my machine locking up as well on a palm sync.
I was able to setup the initial sync and it worked correctly but since
that initial sync my machine locks up.

Config -
Evolution 1.4.5
Redhat WS 3.0

I have noticed that running as a non-root user when I press the hotsync
button on the palm it appears that something changes the rights to
/dev/ttyUSB1 which is linked to /dev/pilot. The rights and ownership
are changed from
crw-rw-rw- 1 root uucp 188, 10 Sep 15 09:02 /dev/ttyUSB1
to
crw------- 1 ron uucp 188, 1 Nov 26 14:51 /dev/ttyUSB1

Thats when the machine locks up. If I reset the rights and try a sync
again the same occurs.

Any ideas where the problem could be located? gpilotd? evolution?

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

I am synching a Tungsten T2 quite reliably now. From
time to time I have to open the pilot settings box and
leave it open for the synch to work but other than
that it's worked every time.

I'm running it with Evo 1.4.5 on Fedora Core

Go for it!

SeeYa!

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a Palm PDA, possibly T3. Has
anyone got this
synced to evo on a PC running Mandrake and does it
work OK?

Also, how was this set up?

Any comments or advise would be much appreciated.

Jonathan
