Currently I am the only one in my company that uses Evolution everyone else uses that lame Evolution wanna be Outlook. We also Exchange server version 5 or something like that, it's not 2K so we can't use Connector (yet). The mail portion seems working fine using exchange as an IMAP server. However, I am having difficulty with two areas.
Meeting requests sent between the two Calendars don't understand each other. Evolution uses the iCalendar (right?) but Outlook can't read them (by default anyway). Outlook (by default) sends its meeting requests via some M$ proprietary format. So my question is, are there settings that I can have people set in Outlook (or in Exchange) to have it send AND receive meeting requests in iCalendar format?
The other thing is LDAP. Exchange is setup to allow me to connect. But when I try I get "Failed to Authenticate" messages (and yes, I am using the correct password
). I've tried every combination in the settings I could think of. Is there some special trick I can do to get this to work? Or do I have to wait and hope they eventually upgrade to Exchange 2K and use Connector?
BTW, the sysadmin is slowly seeing the light of Linux and is willing to work with me if I need to make tweaks to the server's settings.
Thanks for your help,
/mike
