A coworker is running SuSE 8.1 and I know it has the Gnome2 desktop
installed (comes with 8.1). 8.2 is coming with Gnome 2.2 desktop. 

I can understand having limited resources to work on a project (I run
into it all the time). Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to the
final release!
