Thanks for the reply Etienne;

The file which defines the printing possibilities is in the following

/usr/share/gnome-print/profiles

The specific file for "Generic Postscript" is
PostscriptOptimized.profile. You may also want to create a new profile
kprinter.profile and include your command in it.

To change from lpr to "kprinter --stdin" you must edit the following
line
output=command,lpr

Edited file to read: output=command,kprinter --stdin

obviously replacing lpr with "kprinter --stdin".

You must restart evolution for the change to take effect.

Restarted Evolution and found that the "printer" selection section was
grayed out and the default was set to print to file. kprinter --stdin
didn't show up as an option.

I then changed an additional line from "driver=gnome-print-ps2" to
"driver=kprinter". That didn't help.

KDE is my default desktop. Perhaps there an analogous file for the K
Desktop Environment?

Thank you for the assistance.

Hello;

I need to change the Evolution configuration so that default printer is
kprinter --stdin, not lpr but can find no way to do so. Do any of you
know how?

Thanks Much
