indeed, the Greek text of my message headers is displayed correctly (at
last...).
So, I don't have to quit using my favorite Evo ;-)

Yep, I didn't realized that in my previous post.
But instead of editing that auto-written file (and risk losing it every
now and then), just put the changes in .gtkrc.mine and your set.
~/.gtkrc can have the following, for example:
# --THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Raleigh/gtk/gtkrc"
style "user-font"
{
fontset="-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed-*-13-*-*-*-c-*-iso8559-7"
}
widget_class "*" style "user-font"
include "/home/<username>/.gtkrc.mine"
See? ;-))
That worked for me, to decrease the font size Evo uses to a healthy
value.
