(Gnome 1.4 on RH 7.2+++++)
... for putting choice of spelling checker back into "Edit." in 1.2.3 ->
1.2.4. Mostly, Ximian, thanks for listening. This was *SO IMPORTANT* to
me and makes all the difference between sporadically retching and
spewing, and working with pleasure. Needed some .aspell.language.pws
file editing to get wrong words out of 3 (Norwegian common, US English
and Dutch) languages, though.
I hate using rpms (had to again for this update) at the best of times,
hate having to do --force --nodeps on them, had to this time too, but I
must say that this having been said, I've never had problems with Ximian
updates or upgrades. This time 4 rpms from 1.2.3 -> 1.2.4, the absolute
minimum, no problems. Thanks again people.
IMAP "Remote directories" (Norwegian "frakoblede mapper") now suddenly
***WORKS***. It never did before, through all the updates/upgrades since
1.0.0. Gratters, everyone!
Don't know what else has been updated,
/usr/share/doc/evolution-1.2.4/ChangeLog has more or less been ignored -
the spelling backtrack wasn't even in it, let alone other important
things. With important software, it's the first thing one goes to for
what's been changed.
Toshok should now finally do some work on LDAP, it's still utterly lousy
- permits only non-SASL, non-ecrypted binds - nothing's changed. Just
not good enough.
However, summing up: Was the update worth it? ****YES***. Thanks again,
Ximian people.
Best,
Tony
