It works incrementally, i guess the only problem is if the setting is
reset (e.g. you run 'show hidden messages').
this is exactly what i need
however - it would be easier if i could access this function directly
from context menu in message list ...
It used to be there i think but got taken out, if the context menu has
too much snot in it, it becomes useless.
