Hello simran,
I had actually read your post on the evo board a while ago, where you
mentioned the empty emails you get. That thread seemed headed in another
direction, though, so I didn't pick it up.
As for your question: I am not on 123ehost, I am with RotoHost. But
their SpamAssassin is indeed activated with CPanel. I also have a couple
of other domains hosted with different providers, who also offer
SpamAssassin via CPanel. But I haven't activated the SpamAssassin on
those, and I don't have a problem with chopped up emails.
My guess is that SpamAssassin in certain circumstances introduces
characters into the emails that Evolution interprets as an
end-of-message(line feed, followed by a period).
I will change the Evolution settings to retain messages on the server,
and then compare the Evolution inbox with the same messages pulled
through , say, kmail, or web mail. That might give some clues.

I have a similar problem on hosting a site with 123ehost.com. It started
when they updated their version of CPANEL to include spamassassin...
(i don't know if you are hosting with them, but a lot of hosting
companies use cpanel, and i think its that associated with spamassassin
that is broken).

2. I have recently started to notice a significant number of broken-up
messages. In other words, two messages hit my inbox, with the second one
having no date, no subject and a body which is either empty or contains
the bottom portion missing from the other message. It appears that this
started happening shortly after I activated SpamAssassin on my web
host's mail server.
Sounds like a spam assassin bug/misconfiguration. Is the mail server or
your box Solaris? It uses a different mailbox format which can lead to
weirdities like this.
I agree: It's not Evolution. I poll 4 different email accounts with
Evolution, and the problem only occurs with one; the one on which
SpamAssassin is enabled.
To clarify: I am not running any MTA on my box. It's only a workstation
that gets email from my web hosts/ISPs.
FWIW, the account in question is on a Linux server, running the exim v
3.36 MTA.
