No, Evolution makes an assumption about the behavior of other mailers
that turned out to be wrong.

Anyway, you can easily fix Eudora too. I don't remember exactly where in
the settings the option is, but you can tell it to send attachments
using uuencode, binhex, or MIME. (And it suggests that those are
appropriate for talking to Unix, Mac, and Windows machines respectively.
Sigh.)
