[Evolution] GAL-0.13 needed to configure evolution

I keep getting this error when I try and run the evolution configure script. 
I have downloaded the latest version and installed all four packages in the 
correct order, but I let the configure script install everything into the 
default directories. The README says to type in "export 
GNOME_PATH=/i/believe/the path/to/gal?" I get the same error even when I 
point it to the correct directory where gal-0.13 is installed. It says that 
it finds GAL 0.8, can I somehow replace 0.8 with 0.13? I am using KDE as my 
window manager, can someone please give me a clue?
