Currently if you have an IMAP account, and you don't save
the password, if you had accessed that account in the
previous session, it will prompt you for the password
when you start Evolution again (and then of course bury
the dialog with the main window :). The reason I don't
store my password is that I don't always want to check
that account. I'd much prefer that Evolution never ask
me for my password unless I explicitly try to access that
account.

Well it should only access it if it was the last folder you had open
when you quit. There is a bug posted for a configurable 'inbox' feature
(i.e. it always opens on inbox), but these seem opposing goals, and i
guess someone thought it was a good idea to remember your last mailbox.

After playing with it a bit, it looks like it will try to reopen
the IMAP mailbox in your next session if you had it open in your
last session, regardless of where you were when you closed Evolution
last. I'd rather it only ask for my password when I try to access
the IMAP folder, since the reason I don't store my password is that
sometimes I don't want to check it.

The second problem is that shortcuts for this IMAP
account never appear. I would much rather that they
always appear, and then if you select the shortcut, it
will first ask for your password, then continue.

There's definetly a bug posted for this one (561 or something i dunno
its pretty old).

I just posted another bug report describing what I think would
be the best behavior here.
