Why is it not okay to use libnss from Mozilla? libnss means that we can
have cleaner code and it'd probably be more secure as well.

If the OpenSSL guys ever change the license to be GPL compatable, then
I'll consider using it. Otherwise the answer will remain "no".

It depends on how it is implemented...  If all the functionality is
implemented as calls into openssl's crypto library (or other source), then
this is an issue.

If if the openssl command is used, I don't think that it is an issue.  That
is, evolution should be free to do the equivalent of 

    system("openssl x509 ...")

Right?

I have no reason to prefer one implementation over the other.  I just want
the functionality.
