[Evolution] filter "set status" bug?

hello.
i searched on bugzilla, but didn't see anything about this.i have a
filter that, based on the sender's address, moves the message to a
certain folder and sets status as "Read". 

the filter catches the message, and it gets moved, but it doesn't get
marked as "Read". that is, the message is still bold, and the envelope
icon is closed.

has this been addressed? am i understanding the semantics of "Set
status: Read" correctly?
