What format do you have your cards in?  If it's vcf, there will
definitely be a gui importer by evolution 1.0.  There is currently a
text based importer.  Make sure the file name is gnomecard.vcf.  Then
call load-gnomecard-addressbook.  That should load your contacts into
evolution.
