[Evolution] Saving printer command settings

Folks,
   is there a way of saving the printer command settings.. I'm using a separate script that displays a simple gdialog listing several options ranging from viewing in ghostview, distilling to PDF and right down to printing on one of several printers in 1up, 2up and simplex formats.

the command looks like this:

cat >/tmp/evo.ps; myscript.sh /tmp/evo.ps

So using the PRINTER environment variable is not an option.. what I hate is having to enter in this command each time I start Evolution.. because it always displays lpr. I can imaging people using rlpr are in a similar boat with this problem.

any ideas?
