I thingk I have everything set up correctly. I removed all the mandrake spell packages and installed the RedHat 7.2 ones which seemed to work for one user. But it is still not working for me. These are the packages I have not installed: [ujwal vedanta ujwal]$ rpm -qa | fgrep spell gnome-spell-0.4-ximian.1 aspell-0.33.7-1 (RedHat 7.2) pspell-0.12.2-3 (RedHat 7.2) I have also enabled spell checking in the control panel. I am attaching a screenshot of the control panel. I am getting quite desperate to get this working. I am willing to hack source to dig deeper... Ujwal On Sun, 2001-12-09 at 19:09, Radek Doulík wrote:

Next possibility is missing dictionary. Are you sure you have right dictionary installed? (like try to use aspell on some file) Also do you have "live" spell checking enabled in gtkhtml control panel? (composer menus Edit/Properties).Thanks, Ujwal On Fri, 2001-12-07 at 12:38, Radek Doulík wrote:Hi! On Pá, 2001-12-07 at 10:05, Ujwal S. Sathyam wrote:Hey, Welcome to my world! I am even twillin to hack the source!I guess it's some packaging problem. Please try this: killev;killall -9 oafd [this kills evo and oafd] gnome-spell-component & [wait few seconds for component to be registered] gnome-gtkhtml-editor & [wait again] evolution Could you see any weird messages?Very frustrating! Now I want the spell checker to work on my notebook too, but it seems to be blind. I can type the most awfull spelling mistakes and then run a spell check. The spell checker reports that everthing is fine. I can even write a mail in Afrikaans and the spell checker is quite happy with my spelling. If I did this on my home machine, about the whole mail is underlined in red.
