At least you can all expunge, when i do so, i get the following:
Unexpected response from IMAP server: A00548 BAD Unexpected extra
arguments to Uid.
telnet localhost 143
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost (127.0.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.
* OK ripley Sendmail Server IMAP4rev1 (1.0.1/11.2)
So, I'm obviously using the IMAP server that comes with sendmail switch.
Any ideas?
Hasn't been a big deal for me, since i expunge at home with OE, but
might be for someone else.

Hmmm, maybe this is a good candidate for some lazy programming.
Couldn't the expunge operation just hide messages from the folder views

I only have 600 messages in my folders and it is painful to watch the
expunge process tick along.

What are you doing that you're keeping 600 messages in a live folder
anyway? I'd vote more for some unlazy filtering. The delay is a result
of the fact that you are sequentially rewriting a 600-message file.
Unless you have access to come Quantum State instand read-write storage,
it's going to take a few seconds to write that data.
