Re: [Evolution] Evolution and Spell Checker

OK, On my RH7.1 system, updated thru redcarpet, I don't have
gnome-spell.

I went to rpmfind, and downloaded aspell, pspell, and gnome-spell, and
_still_ don't have spell checking in evolution 0.12.99.

$ rpm -q aspell
aspell-0.32.6-2
$ rpm -q pspell
pspell-0.11.2-2
$ rpm -q gnome-spell
gnome-spell-0.1-1
$ rpm -q evolution
evolution-0.12.99-snap.ximian.200108070800

What else must I do to get spell checking to work? Is it that my pspell
is not 'recent' enough?

I love evolution, but I hate looking stoopid when I misspell something.
Please help!

Regards,
Tom Cooper

It really would be nice if someone at ximian could put together a

IMHO spell checking is an important part of any mailer that is to be
taken seriously by an organization wishing to implement it as their
default mailer.

Evolution is looking really good right now, I've been using it as my
default mailer since 0.10 but spell checking is the one thing that I
really miss although if I find the time maybe I will try and build
gnome-spell.

It's been my experience (on RedHat 6.2 and 7.1) that if all components
are installed correctly (pspell and gnome-spell) - and spell checking is
enabled in the gtkhtml caplett - spell checking just works (in fact,
it's complaining right now about pspell, gtkhtml, and caplett).

Subject: [Evolution] Evolution and Spell Checker

I've had no luck getting spell checking working in Evolution 0.12.
Nowhere is there a reference, in Evolution, to a spell checker. I
beleive I've installed all required files (gnome-spell and pspell) but
still nothing. I'm running mandrake 8 and kde. Am I missing somthing or
is this a bug?

Thanks
John
