[Evolution] libraries

Apologies if this has been discussed here before.

It looks like incompatibilities between library versions are the cause
of a large percentage of the problems discussed on this list (Red Carpet
& Evo, Nautilus & Evo, etc etc etc).  If the software really is beta
software, then why aren't the snapshot binaries statically linked?
Obviously, it's easier to be a beta tester when the testing doesn't mess
up your stable programs by replacing the libraries with which they link.
