A little suggestion from me: Maybe evolution should create its mbox
lockfiles in a different place like $HOME/evolution/lock or
/temp/$USER/evoultion/lock ...
Noooo! It has to create them in the same place every other program
creates them, or they're no good. The point of the lock file is to
keep any other program from writing to the spool file while Evolution
is reading from it.
If you don't have write permission to /var/spool/mail, you need to use
a setuid/setgid movemail program. Evolution doesn't currently include
source for its own, but if you have emacs or netscape installed, you
can use the one that comes with it. Just configure evolution with
"--with-movemail=/path/to/movemail".
