You probably don't have GConf installed. Pull down module 'gconf' from
cvs and install that and see if that helps.

Also, I believe that GConf tells you to move a file to some location if
it's the first time you've installed - so make sure you do that.

I have tried to add the contents of /usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4 to
aclocal.m4 but it did not help either.  

This is the first time I have tried to install anything from CVS, so my
learning curve is rather large.  Could someone point me in a direction
where I could learn how to troubleshoot things like this.  I really hate to
have to ask questions and fill up everyone's mail box.
