I am trying to compile evolution from CVS. I am getting an error about the
version of Bonobo that I have so I pulled that down from CVS also and now
it is complaining about the version of gnome-vfs that I have installed. No
problem so I pulled that down from CVS and now I am getting errors that I
do not understand. This might not be the right forum for this question but
if some one could please point me in the right direction I would really
appreciate it!!
This is the output I am getting when I do an ./autogen.sh
**Warning**: I am going to run `configure' with no arguments.
If you wish to pass any to it, please specify them on the
`./autogen.sh' command line.

deletefiles is macros/gnome-gettext.m4
Creating ./aclocal.m4 ...
Running gettextize... Ignore non-fatal messages.
You should update your own `aclocal.m4' by adding the necessary
macro packages gettext.m4, lcmessage.m4 and progtest.m4 from
the directory `/usr/share/aclocal'
Making ./aclocal.m4 writable ...
Running libtoolize...
You should add the contents of `/usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4' to
`aclocal.m4'.
Running aclocal -I macros ...
aclocal: configure.in: 313: macro `AM_PATH_GCONF' not found in library
**Error**: aclocal failed. This may mean that you have not
installed all of the packages you need, or you may need to
set ACLOCAL_FLAGS to include "-I $prefix/share/aclocal"
for the prefix where you installed the packages whose
macros were not found
I have tried to add the contents of /usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4 to
aclocal.m4 but it did not help either.
This is the first time I have tried to install anything from CVS, so my
learning curve is rather large. Could someone point me in a direction
where I could learn how to troubleshoot things like this. I really hate to
have to ask questions and fill up everyone's mail box.
Thanks,
Tyler
