Re: [Evolution] Still can't compile

I got Evolution to install last nignt for the first time. I followed
Richard Zach's instructions (see thread). In addition, I installed
Helixcode which installs most of the below libs for you. Good luck.

If you have any further problems email me -- I should be able to help.

I have been having related problems getting Evolution, and all that is
needed for it, to compile.

You mention to get a recent version of bonobo from CVS. Is there a
specicic 'tagged' version that *works* ? I am working with a RedHat 6.2
install, with all the latest Helixcode Gnome libs, and several gnome
libs from CVS. Unfortunately Bonobo refuses to get past the autogen.sh
stage.

If you are not the person to ask this, who do I contact?

Much appreciated,

Maurik

P.S. Errors from autogen.sh at the bottom of this mail.

gdk-pixbuf recently changed and you need the cvs version of that

libxml you need very specifically 1.8.7 (or the LIBXML_1_8_6
tag in cvs) - libxml 2 is incompatible, and earlier versions
have bugs that cause problems with etable. gtkhtml you need
from cvs probably as well. Oh, quite likely you need
a newer glib/gtk as well than redhat would ship (but i'm not
sure on that).

It can be a lot of work to compile, and about all you can do
with it is view email, but it is starting to come together.
