The only file that needs spaces is the symlink in the shortcut bar. The
rest of the stuff, like Calendar, Schedule, Contacts are still just one
word.

And who even says the shortcuts have to be symlinks? They can all be in one
file called shortcuts.

Only the shortcuts have to have spaces:
My Calendar -> /Calendar
Pete's Calendar -> IMAP://box/whatever
