Yes, I resisted requiring the new and at the time unstable GWeather API,
insisting we support both the old and new GWeather APIs for at least one
release cycle. But the requirement got bumped anyway. I let it slide
since GWeather is an optional dependency.
On GNOME 3.4 you'll have to pass --disable-weather to configure.
