And presumably during those usability tests, somebody asked those users
what they might expect a button that sends and receives email to say
instead? What did *they* suggest?
I can appreciate their confusion, FWIW... personally I'd just ditch the
over-complex drop-down New button, which I'd be surprised if many people
use for anything except composing a new mail anyway (while they're in
the Mail view), and swap it for a straightforward "Compose" or "Write
Mail" button. (Replaced by something equivalent when in Calendar, Tasks
or Contact view, of course.) But then again, I didn't see the usability
tests :/
