I am trying to implement ink annotations in Evince.
To write the appearance stream, would it be advisable to
(a) re-implement PDF drawing primitives
(b) extend Cairo so that a "PDF stream surface" exists? Currently it
is only possible to output an entire PDF file, but that is too much
for an appearance steam.
Anybody with ideas?
You need to implement them in poppler first (the glib-frontend).
You can take a look how other annotations have been implemented
(e.g. start with poppler-glib-demo).
