mmm... as acroread does not give any error and renders the file, this is probably a bug in poppler. Please file a bug in http://bugs.freedesktop.org under component poppler and attach the testcase there

I get pretty much the same thing with 3.8.2-1.2.x86_64 [openSUSE].
