I have filed a bug report. I appended it to:

Bug 640826 - Wrong window position

since it's exactly the same problem.

Note that there are other bug reports about closely related problems.

The toolbar and sidebar randomly reappear after being disabled. I confirm  
the bug.

I'm afraid I'm going to leave it at that for now. Thanks for your help.
