On Linux, through evince-thumbnailer, it generates thumbnails for Nautilus and Dolphin. I was wondering if there's a way to use evince-thumbnailer.exe on Windows(Vista) to generate pdfs' thumbnails in a format suitable for explorer.exe (Thumbs.db?).
At the moment, I think it cannot be used on Windows. From what I
understand (but I might be wrong) from:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc144118%28v=VS.85%29.aspx
it seems that on Windows a thumbnail should be generated by a
thumbnail handler, which should be a COM object. I guess the
evince-thumbnailer code could be a starting point for such a COM
object.
Cheers,
Hib
