As you describe it, it looks like a possibility that there's a bug
somewhere in WebKit (the common backend for both Epiphany and Midori)
related to that.

You can file a bug in http://bugs.webkit.org if that's the case, or in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org if you think it's something unrelated to
WebKit, but to those two GNOME apps.
