Hi,
I'm fairly new to linux, and I just stumbled across Epiphany today.
It looks like a pretty good browser, and well suited to my application.
I'm having a problem though. I'm sending it URLs to open from the
shell using the -remote switch. Like this: epiphany -remote "openURL
(http://www.google.com)"
I know it's undocumented, but it works fine. I assume it's inherited
from the mozilla/gecko code. However, I want these links to open in
the same window, and same tab, that is already open. That is, I only
ever want to have 1 window open, with 1 tab in it, and when I send a
URL to be opened it should open in that existing tab. In Firefox I
can do this by going into about:config and setting both
browser.link.open_external = 1 and browser.link.open_newwindow = 1
Since these options are both available in Epiphany I had expected it
to work. However, it doesn't. New websites are opened in new windows.
Does anyone know if there's a way to open links from external sources
in the same window?
Thanks,
John
