My mistake. Yes Synaptic points to Iceweasel.

A search of the package installer showed no results for flashplayer-anything.

Perhaps I'm just not the type of user for Epiphany.

Yeah, mozilla Debian package is a transition package, but it doesn't
point to Epiphany at all, it points to Iceape (which is Debian version
of Seamonkey).

Larry: Mike pointed you to libflashplayer.so, it has to be installed
in /usr/lib/xulrunner/plugins/.  Note also that Debian provides an
installer for the Flash plugin, flashplayer-nonfree, installing it
would be the recommended way to get the proprietary plugin installed.
