Maybe it's time to get the lingo out of "Friends of GNOME" and just call
it "Monthly donations". I don't have a super-strong opinion on it, but
it's worth a thought.
For what it's worth: in the UK it is fairly common to have a "friends" scheme for supporters who pay a donation. You often find it with art galleries and museums and so on.
