By the way, we generally try to do this in the release notes,
particularly when we imagine that people might misunderstand something
at first. But people often don't read them.

We also try to point out when something isn't quite finished, instead of
being a design decision. And we try to communicate our future plans. And
people generally take that and beat us with it as "Look what they
haven't done yet." Luckily, that's normally minor stuff that makes the
commenter look silly.

But people still often don't see this and have knee-jerk reactions
anyway. In general on Slashdot/etc comments, people tend to prefer to
comment negatively about all things, including GNOME. I don't know why.

I'd hope that some broad campaign celebrating GNOME friendliness and
empowerment might make this kind of behaviour seem out of place.

There is much opportunity to help with the release notes.
