ekiga is not going to talk to skype connection. Both parties will need
to be using the same protocol.

Basic newbie linux problems are the firewall, audio device selection and
same for codecs.

Here is a script you can use to check your LAN firewall then your
WAN router firewall.

Hopefully Ekiga developers will create a LAN/WAN test one of
these days.
