The message you get in ekiga is the same (NOTICE: Could not send 
message) no matter the error.  So you have to check in the log to see if 
the error is indeed Offline.  If it is offline indeed, then there is a 
problem.

Send us the log or put it somewhere on Internet.

Video and audio call.  But not text message.
